In short
In Flip 7, add up the number cards you flipped without a duplicate, double the total if you have the ×2 card, then add the +2 to +10 modifiers. Flipping 7 different numbers scores a 15-point bonus. A duplicate busts you (0 points). The game ends when a player reaches 200 points; the highest total wins.
How it works
Flip 7 is a push-your-luck game. On your turn you choose to flip one more card or to stop. Each number card you flip is worth its value… as long as you don’t flip a number already in front of you. A duplicate ends the round for that player, with zero points. Flipping seven different numbers — the “Flip 7” — ends the round for everyone and scores a bonus.
The cards
| Type | Cards | Effect on the score |
|---|---|---|
| Numbers | 0 to 12 (there are as many cards as the value: twelve 12s, a single 1, one 0) | Add up, with no duplicate |
| Modifiers | +2, +4, +6, +8, +10 | Added to the number total |
| Multiplier | ×2 | Doubles the number total, before the modifiers |
| Actions | Freeze, Flip Three, Second Chance | Change the turn, not the score |
Freeze forces a player to stop immediately, keeping their points. Flip Three forces three flips in a row. Second Chance cancels the first duplicate: both cards are discarded and play continues.
Scoring a round
- Add up your number cards (each counted once, by definition).
- If you have the ×2, double that total.
- Add your modifiers +2, +4, +6, +8, +10.
- If you flipped 7 different numbers, add 15.
- If you busted without a Second Chance: 0, everything is lost, modifiers included.
Example: 12, 9, 4 and 0, with ×2 and +4. Numbers: 25, doubled: 50, plus 4: 54 points.
The end of the game
Scores add up from round to round. As soon as a player reaches or passes 200 points at the end of a round, the game ends and the highest total wins. Careful: reaching 200 isn’t enough; you finish the round, and another player can overtake you in that same round.
Variants
- Short game: to 100 or 150 points for younger players.
- With a Vengeance expansion: new action cards and modifiers, same basic scoring.
- Single round: one round per dealer, the highest round score wins.
Common mistakes
- Doubling the modifiers: the ×2 only applies to the numbers; the +2 to +10 are added afterwards.
- Keeping the modifiers after a bust: a bust wipes everything, including the ×2 and the pluses.
- Treating the 0 as a possible duplicate: there is only one 0 in the deck, it can’t duplicate, but it counts as a number towards the Flip 7.
- Stopping the game as soon as 200 is reached: finish the round; everyone plays.

How many points is a Flip 7 worth?
A 15-point bonus, added to the round total. The Flip 7 also ends the round for all players.
What happens on a duplicate in Flip 7?
The player busts and scores 0, even with modifiers. With a Second Chance card, the duplicate is cancelled once.
How does the ×2 card work?
