How to fill in the sheet
Write the first names across the top in seating order: it makes it easier to remember who ended the round. At the end of each round, every player turns over their remaining cards and announces their total, negative cards included. Write it as is in the box, then circle the score of the player who ended the round. If they do not have strictly the lowest total, cross out their score and write double next to it; a negative or zero score is never doubled.
Keep the running total on a separate line at the bottom or, simpler, write it small under each score. As soon as a player reaches 100 at the end of a round, the game is over: the lowest total wins.
Sample game
| Round | Emma | Nico | Pat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 → 24 (ended the round, not the lowest) | 8 | 12 |
| 2 | 3 | −2 (ended the round, lowest) | 17 |
| 3 | 9 | 14 | 6 (ended the round, lowest) |
| Total | 36 | 20 | 35 |
In round 1, Emma ends with 12 but Nico scores 8 and Pat 12: she is not strictly the lowest, so her score becomes 24. In round 2, Nico ends on −2: negative, never doubled. After three rounds Nico leads with 20.
Mistakes to avoid on paper
- Forgetting to circle who ended the round: ten minutes later nobody remembers, and the doubling rule can’t be applied.
- Counting a removed column: the three identical cards of a column are out of the game and worth 0.
- Stopping the game mid-round because someone “went past 100”: you always finish the round, and it is the total at the end of the round that counts.
- Adding up in your head over ten rounds: a running total written under each score saves recounting.
