One line per round, in penalty points. Each Payoo is worth its value (1 to 20), the Papayoo (the 7 of the suit rolled on the die) is worth 40; the line always adds up to 250. · Full rules: combiendepoints.fr/en/games/papayoo/
How to fill in the sheet
Write the first names across the top in seating order: cards are passed to the left, and it helps to remember who gave what to whom. Before starting, write the agreed number of rounds at the top of the sheet (often one per player). At the end of each round, each player announces their points: the sum of the Payoos they collected, plus 40 if they have the Papayoo. Note the suit rolled on the die next to the round number; it is useful if there is a dispute.
The line must add up to 250. Do the addition before moving on: 210 points of Payoos and 40 for the Papayoo, whatever the number of players. Write the running total small under each score; after the last round, the lowest total wins.
Sample four-player game
| Round | Die | Emma | Nico | Pat | Lea | Check |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clubs | 30 | 72 (Papayoo) | 68 | 80 | 250 |
| 2 | Hearts | 95 (Papayoo) | 41 | 22 | 92 | 250 |
| 3 | Spades | 12 | 58 | 120 (Papayoo) | 60 | 250 |
| 4 | Diamonds | 63 (Papayoo) | 37 | 49 | 101 | 250 |
| Total | 200 | 208 | 259 | 333 |
Four rounds with four players. Emma wins with 200 despite two Papayoos: she got rid of the big Payoos. The check column isn’t on the printed sheet, but add each line up in your head.
Mistakes to avoid on paper
- Counting 40 for a 7 that isn’t of the suit rolled.
- Missing a Payoo left in a badly stacked trick: the line no longer makes 250.
- Changing the number of rounds along the way because someone is ahead: it is set before the first deal.
- Reversing the ranking: the player with the most points lost.
The Papayoo counter on the site checks the 250 every round, adds the Papayoo’s 40 with one tap and stops at the agreed round.
